I just remembered something. I remember reading the book, "The Last Mafioso," by Jimmy, "The Weasle" Fratiano, and if I remember right, one of the things he said was that state lotteries were one of the best money making gigs around. The reason being that they skimmed off the top a certain amount and declared the rest that got taxed, everyone was happy. They got their cut and the fed got it's cut.

Now considering all we've learned and how these corrupt fucks steal every dollar they can get their hands on, it seems to me that it might be a good idea to take a VERY close look at state lotteries and where ALL that money is going, not just the declared money.

The point is that is a lot of money. Think it through. Billions of dollars being generated by people buying tickets etc. Presumable it goes into an account somewhere and generates INTEREST. How long have they being doing the lottery? Over a decade? How much interest has been generated? If you skim of the top it's pure profit. Lots of it.

So, the question is, HOW could you skim off the top without getting caught? I mean, nobody really knows how much revenue is generated on any given day, it varies constantly. It seems to me that if you could divert that money BEFORE it was actually accounted for, there would be no need to launder it.

Well yeah, that is my point. That money is probably going to the Hillarys of the world. It seems to me that it would be good to cut that revenue stream or at least make sure it is going to something actually useful for the people.

Remember when they put up the vote in Cal to make car insurance mandatory and the people voted NO, but they made it mandatory anyway? I always wondered how they got away with that.
