Bill Gates, World Bank Helped Build Global Digital ID Structure Before Pandemic

Under the “digital inclusion” initiative, Bill Gates was pushing for India’s Aadhaar digital ID system to expand around the world prior to the outbreak. The World Bank is heavily invested in the project.

Bill Gates has emerged as a global “authority” in the wake of COVID-19, funding vaccines and advising governments on how to respond to the pandemic.

Gates was busily working to establish global digital ID infrastructure long before the outbreak, which is now being promoted as a way to combat the virus.

The GSMA – the industry organization for global mobile operators – recently published a report detailing the push for digital ID systems worldwide to respond to COVID-19. As reported:

State governments in India are adapting real-time digital identification mechanisms to monitor compliance with quarantines arising from the COVID-19 pandemic…

Meanwhile, the Jamaican government is looking to fast track the rollout of its National Identification System to help it dispense aid in response to the COVID-19 outbreak…

Believe all women? New York Times only remembers its journalistic skepticism when it’s Biden in the crosshairs

For anyone running for office in modern America, accusations of sexual assault are par for the course. But when it comes to weighing up these accusations, the US’ mainstream paper of record applies some very uneven standards.

Take Joe Biden, the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee. If doubts weren’t already raised by his fondness for sniffing women, the emergence last month of a sexual assault allegation against the former vice president could have caused a major headache for his campaign.

Yet amid the coronavirus pandemic, and given the political leanings of most media outlets, the scandal barely registered.

The Intercept ran a story in March on how Tara Reade, a former Senate staffer, claimed that in 1993 Biden pushed her against a wall, groped her, and penetrated her with his fingers. Reade had spoken up about the alleged incident a year earlier, but was met with accusations that she was doing Russia’s bidding. The US media was still doing ‘Russiagate’ back then, remember?

The story was ignored by every single mainstream TV news network for more than a week. Few print news sites covered it. The New York Times only ran the story this Sunday, in a feature-length article dismissing the allegations entirely.

The NYT’s investigation “found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden.” The paper noted that Reade’s peers on Capitol Hill “did not recall any talk of such an incident or similar behavior by Mr. Biden toward her or any women,” though she did reportedly tell her family and a friend. Biden’s campaign manager was given a lengthy paragraph to tout her boss’ tireless work for women’s rights. Reade is described as being “a bit naive” at the time of the alleged assault, and in light of her filing a police report on Thursday, the Times ever so helpfully reminded its readers that “filing a false police report may be punishable by a fine and imprisonment.”

Furthermore, the Times brought up allegations that Reade “was a Russian agent,” and spends three paragraphs outlining sexual assault allegations against Donald Trump “that went far beyond the accusations against Mr. Biden.”

New York Times finally covers the woman who is accusing Biden of sexually assaulting her The article states that she previously wrote nice things about Putin“Ms. Reade said that she was not working for Russia and did not support Mr. Putin”Unreal https://t.co/FH9hk3YpLW

Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services Agrees to Pay Over $3.9 Million to Resolve False Claims Act Liability in Connection with SNAP Quality Control

The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has agreed to pay the United States $3,984,254 to resolve allegations that it violated the False Claims Act in its administration of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Department of Justice announced today. Until 2008, SNAP was known as the Food Stamp Program.

“SNAP is an important vehicle for helping families in need,” said Assistant Attorney General Jody Hunt of the Department of Justice’s Civil Division. “This settlement is an example of the department’s commitment to ensuring that taxpayer funds are spent appropriately so that the public can have confidence in the integrity of vital programs like SNAP.”

“Although it is appalling that these actions occurred within a state agency entrusted with assisting vulnerable and needy residents, I am heartened that LDCFS has resolved its liability and cooperated with our investigation,” said U.S. Attorney William D. Hyslop for the Eastern District of Washington. “Together with our partners in the Justice Department’s Civil Division and the USDA, we will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who misuse and wrongfully obtain SNAP funding.”

Trump crushes the ever drifting left Faux News, says watch OANN

Faux News, as the left called them for years is really starting to earn that title. The channel is populated with various left wing and NeverTrump GOP propagandists who do nothing but bash Trump seemingly all the time. TaKe out the few opinion show hosts like Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Greg Gutfeld, Judge Jeanine Pirro and Jesse Watters, and you really have a carbon copy of CNN, just with better ratings. Trump has obviously realized this and is suggesting people watch OANN instead. Wish I could, but my crappy cable company doesn’t carry them.

Watching @FoxNews on weekend afternoons is a total waste of time. We now have some great alternatives, like @OANN.

Dutch Police takes down 15 DDoS-for-hire services in one week

Europe has become a hub for cyber crimes ranging from online child abuse platforms to DDoS-for-hire services and dark web marketplaces being operated from the continent. At the same time, law enforcement authorities are doing what’s possible to tackle the issue.

The Dutch police have been very vocal about its efforts to take down online DDoS-for-hire services and in the past six months, they have successfully seized several such platforms.

In its latest press release, the Dutch Police has confirmed to have seized around 15 DDoS-for-hire services in only a single week.

DDoS-for-hire services offer DDoS stressors or DDoS boosters through which the service providers facilitate users in launching DDoS attacks against digital platforms and websites.

The operation was part of an extensive crackdown against DDoS service providers in which the Dutch Police was supported by the Europol, Interpol, the FBI, web hosting services, domain registrars and managed to take down many well-established websites. The names of the services taken down last week haven’t been revealed by the authorities.

How AI will be used to manage 5G networks

Artificial intelligence will play an important role in how future networks become sliced, supporting multiple uses, including IoT and private 5G networks.

Telco infrastructure provider Nokia launched a new service aimed at helping operators use artificial intelligence and automation to better manage their 5G networks and avoid network and service-level failures.

"Traditional network and service management approaches are no longer sustainable," Nokia said in a press release announcing its AVA 5G Cognitive Operations. The new framework, pitched at communications service providers (formerly called mobile network operators), relies on virtualization and network slicing to improve wireless network performance.

Network slicing is a way to use different services on the same network infrastructure—voice and IoT, for example. It's a kind of flexible zone which lets different applications use varying bandwidth, and importantly, maintain varying levels of reliability depending on need.

The AI-as-a-service offering becomes particularly helpful, Nokia points out, with respect to service level agreements (SLA). A communications service provider can commit to delivering certain performance levels, and AVA 5G Cognitive Operations will help the telco provision network resources based on the terms of the contract. In addition, the platform will help telcos slice their networks properly, creating cost savings because the slices will be appropriately sized.
