CUOMO REFLECTS ON NEWFOUND HAPPINESS FOLLOWING VIRUS ATTACK
CNN’s Chris Cuomo has what many aspire to have in the world of broadcast journalism: a contracted primetime gig with the network, even if it is on one of the most insufferable news outlets in America. Cuomo has had his moments. He went off the rails when someone called him “Fredo,” which he took as the Italian equivalent of the n-word. It’s not. But his meltdown was something to behold. He also pressed former 2020 candidate Bob O’Rourke (I refuse to call him Beto) on his position to confiscate guns. He’s also had disagreements with colleague Don Lemon on issues like CNN airing the White House’s daily Wuhan coronavirus pressers and having Kellyanne Conway interviewed on the network.

Beto: "Yes … I don't want you, or anyone else to get into the fear-mongering … that the gov is going come and take your guns"
Cuomo: "It's not about fear-mongering. You just said it, Beto"
Cuomo was recently diagnosed with the Wuhan coronavirus and has been doing his show from the basement of his home while in quarantine. Yet, it could be the isolation or, as The New York Post put it, a fever dream, but Cuomo appeared to have had a little meltdown on his radio show on SiriusXM. He trashed his employer, CNN, saying he doesn’t’ like what he does professionally, calling it a waste of time (via NY Post):
The longtime cable host, 49, had a mini-existential crisis on his SiriusXM show, lashing out at his lucrative primetime gig and blasting President Trump as being “full of sh-t.”
“I don’t want to spend my time doing things that I don’t think are valuable enough to me personally,” Cuomo said. “I don’t value indulging irrationality, hyper-partisanship.”
Cuomo said his battle with COVID-19 has made him rethink his values and question his position as a public figure.
“I don’t like what I do professionally,” he said. “I don’t think it’s worth my time.”
Cuomo then launched into a tale about a “loser biker” who confronted him on Easter Sunday for being outside his Southampton home with his family despite his coronavirus diagnosis.
“I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bullsh– to me, I don’t want to hear it,” he said.
Cuomo said he wishes he could have acted like a regular Joe and told the biker to “go to hell.”
He added that he doesn’t like dabbling talking to Democrats who peddle things they don’t mean and giving time to Republicans who say things they feel forced to say. Frankly, on CNN, it’s mostly the former. Also, it’s a super liberal network fueled by anti-Trump hatred. Well, that’s one area Cuomo appears to be exhausted. Not everyone can be Jim Acosta, being a quasi-Democratic operative in the briefing rooms and press pools 24/7. At the same time, that’s why I hope Cuomo doesn’t leave because this rant sounds like someone looking for an escape hatch. If he goes, I bet the mortgage that Acosta takes his slot to which I say, God, help us all.
