Just off to post the research consolidation so far, from Thread I and 90% of Thread II. Collating it this way isn't sustainable, so a new solution has been found meanwhile. See what you all think, feedback welcome.

Collection and preservation of research issues

Issue: Collection of research posts isn't sustainable because -

As our research threads are naturally sliding off the board, links to posts are lost with them.
We do have archives of the threads however we can't link to posts.

Solution:

We list the questions on the research threads for reference.
We list them also over on a dedicated thread at /comms/ and post the factual, provable answers we have to questions there, tagging the question we're answering.
Much of our research is factual and provable and much is working theory.
We can use the research threads as normal and post the factual, provable answers we have over on the /comms/ thread.
The /comms/ catalog moves much slower, so our Qs & As will be preserved for much longer, and will only contain the factual answers we have making it easier for everyone to follow and see what we have and have yet to find.

What do you all think? Anyone have any other ideas?
