Google Subpoenaed For Hillary Clinton Emails Believed To Contain Backup To Records Scrubbed With "Bleachbit"

Google has been ordered to turn over all Hillary Clinton emails from a Gmail account believed to contain backups to communications from her personal server which her IT specialist, Paul Combetta, reportedly scrubbed using BleachBit.

Combetta allegedly used the Google account to transfer Clinton's emails from a laptop to a server at Platte River Networks, after which BleachBit was used to remove all traces from the device.

On Wednesday, watchdog group Judicial Watch announced that Google had been served with a subpoena seeking all Clinton email from January 21, 2009 until February 1, 2013 from her time at the Obama State Department where she served as Secretary of State.

The Google subpoena comes in a Judicial Watch’s lawsuit that seeks records concerning “talking points or updates on the Benghazi attack” (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01242)). Judicial Watch famously uncovered in 2014 that the “talking points” that provided the basis for Susan Rice’s false statements were created by the Obama White House. This Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit led directly to the disclosure of the Clinton email system in 2015. -Judicial Watch

The issue of Gmail backups was raised during an August, 2019 hearing by US District Court Judge Royce Lamberth, who ordered JW to "shake this tree" and pursue the issue. Lamberth referenced a report released by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) in which he said he had some 'very troubling information' about Combetta - who was granted immunity by the Obama Justice Department.

To the point - on March 25, 2015, Combetta had a "conference call with President Clinton's staff." Apparently, in the days following that call, he (Combetta) had an "'oh shit' moment" when he realized he had forgotten to wipe the PRN server clean as he had been instructed to do back in December by Cheryl Mills.

Therefore, sometime within the 6 days after a call with "President Clinton's Staff," that PRN server was wiped clean using BleachBit despite the subpoena from the House Select Committee on Benghazi received weeks earlier on March 4, 2016.

Here is a quick summary of the timeline of events:

February 2013 – Hillary resigns from State Department

Spring 2013 – Hillary aide Monica Hanley backs up Pagliano Server to Apple MacBook and a thumb drive

February 2014 – Monica Hanley attempts to upload Hillary email archives to new Platte River Networks (PRN) server but encounters technical issues

Early 2014 – Monic

a Hanley mails Apple MacBook to Combetta to upload Hillary email archives to new PRN server. Undisclosed PRN Staff Member then uploads Hillary’s emails to a gmail account and then transfers them over to the new PRN server. Combetta deletes most of the emails from gmail but indvertently leaves 940.

Early 2014 – Monica Hanley advises Combetta to wipe the Apple MacBook clean after uploading Hillary’s emails to the new PRN server but he forgets to do it

Early 2014 - Combetta allegedly mails Apple MacBook back to Clinton and it is promptly lost

December 2014 – Hillary delivers 55,000 emails to State Department

December 2014 / January 2015 – Heather Samuelson and Cheryl Mills request emails be deleted from their computer using BleachBit

December 2014 / January 2015 – “Unknown Clinton staff member” (Combetta) instructs PRN to remove archives of Clinton emails from PRN server

March 2, 2015 - NYT releases an article showing that Hillary used a personal email server in violation of State Department rules

March 4, 2015 – Hillary receives subpoena from House Select Committee on Benghazi instructing her to preserve and deliver all emails from her personal servers

March 25, 2015 – Combetta has a conference call with “President Clinton’s Staff”

March 25 – 31, 2015 – Combetta has “oh shit” moment and realizes he forgot to wipe Hillary’s email archive from the PRN server back in December…which he promptly does using BleachBit despite later admitting he "was aware of the existence of the preservation request and the fact that it meant he should not disturb Clinton's e-mail data on the PRN server."

June 2016 – FBI discovers that Combetta forgot to erase 940 emails from the gmail account he created to help with the PRN server upload

It will be interesting to see what Google turns over - if anything. Maybe they'll simply smash their servers with hammers?

A Stunning Meteor Shower Will Send Fireballs Streaking Across Night Sky Next Week

Known as one of the oldest meteor showers in recorded human history, the Lyrid showers can be dated 2,700 years back.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is beauty in every level. Be it the smallest sub-atomic particles to the comets appearing in our skies once in a while, to the largest cluster of galaxies or the huge clouds of nebula. The universe is a masterpiece and when it comes to describing its beauty, even scientists fall short of words. As we are living in the age of scientific advancement, it is easier for us to witness a few celestial spectacles and one such event is coming our way soon which will make the avid stargazers very happy.

Most of us, at least once in our lifetime, have looked up to the sky and seen a swift streak light dash through the night sky. These sudden appearances of light stunned the scientists for a long time until they made the discovery that these celestial bodies are meteors, more commonly known as shooting stars, (yes, the same ones that we have made our wishes upon seeing them dart across the sky). Meteors are nothing but pieces of debris that come towards the Earth's atmosphere and since they dart towards Earth at a speed of 7 to 46 miles per second, most of them get vaporized the moment they make contact with our atmosphere, leaving behind a white-hot streak.

Well, avid stargazers have something to look forward to on Tuesday, April 21, where the Lyrid meteor shower is expected to hit its peak, reported Penn Live. It isn't the biggest astronomical show of the year, but this celestial event is known to send a rather significant bunch of shooting stars through our night sky, giving it the appearance of fireballs in the night sky. This year, it is expected that we can see about 10-15 meters when it is at its peak. Occasionally, a Lyrid meteor shower is also seen sending as many as 60-100 meteors per hour, but it is not expected to happen this year.

The best time to view the event is when the meteor shower is at its peak. Scientists have estimated early mornings of April 20 and April 22 is the best time to have a look at the night sky to catch the meteor shower at its best. The night sky is expected to be relatively darker and our moon will also be moving towards its new phase, a day after the peak meteor showers.

Meteor showers can appear anywhere in the sky, but the direction of their motion is usually away from the constellation it is named after. The meteor shower is named Lyrid primarily because they appear to radiate from the constellation Lyra in the northeastern night sky. Scientists have also mentioned that any viewing of the night sky from a dark location is a good viewing location.

The Lyrid meteor shower is active from April 16 to 25, peaking on the morning of the 22nd. About 10 to 15 meteors per hour can be expected around the shower's peak, in a dark sky. The Lyrids are known for uncommon surges that can sometimes bring the rate up to 100 per hour. pic.twitter.com/kjValOnwyo

— Con Stoitsis (@vivstoitsis) April 14, 2020

Most meteoroids range between the size of singular sand grains or pebbles. But our planet Earth is no stranger to witnessing a large meteor occasionally that survives its descent and falls on Earth. Scientifically speaking, any meteor that appears brighter than any of the stars and planets is called a fireball. Their sudden appearance and fast movement give us the illusion that they are much closer than they appear.

Known as one of the oldest meteor showers in recorded human history, the Lyrid showers are dated as much as 2,700 years back. Comet Thatcher (C/1861 G1) is the source of the Lyrid Meteor showers and these showers happen because each year in April, Earth passes through the debris stream left by the comet. This debris then travels to the upper atmosphere of Earth at a speed of 110,000 miles per hour and burn up when they reach 60 miles within the Earth's atmosphere.

Should Biden create his own ‘SHADOW GOVT, shadow cabinet, shadow SWAT team’ to counter Trump… asks MSNBC host

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle went beyond the point of shilling for Joe Biden by asking whether the former vice president should set up a “shadow government” to counter Donald Trump’s coronavirus daily briefings.

Biden may be riding the momentum of endorsements from previous competitors Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, as well as from former President Barack Obama, but one MSNBC host thinks he needs to do more to “counter-program” Trump during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Should he be creating his own shadow government, shadow cabinet, shadow SWAT team, and getting up there on a podium every night saying, ‘here’s the crisis we’re in,’” Ruhle said, after a guest referred to Trump’s daily coronavirus press briefings as “clown” shows on Wednesday.

— Kyle Drennen (@kjdrennen) April 15, 2020

While most would be taken aback by the suggestion that a political candidate should go ahead and skip an election and just create a parallel government to somehow override the existing one, Ruhle’s guest, former Obama White House office Jim Messina, was unfazed by the comments and continued talking up Biden as a leader providing guidance to citizens during the current pandemic.

The comment did not go over so smoothly on social media.

“Biden can’t create a coherent sentence so good luck creating a shadow government,” one user tweeted.

— JCorrado (@ForzaCorrado) April 15, 2020

Daily Wire contributor Derek Hunter dubbed Ruhle the “dumbest f**king person on cable television” for the suggestion.

“Can you imagine if a Democrat were in the WH and this was suffering Fox News?” another user asked.

Words utterly fail me 🤬🤬🤬🤬MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle wonders if Joe Biden should create ‘his own shadow government, shadow cabinet, shadow SWAT Team’ to counteract Trump’s COVID19 pressers [video] https://t.co/8BoZMhXwNm

— Bent Not Broken!! (@PatrickArnold77) April 15, 2020

Ruhle’s comment about a “shadow government” is not her first time endorsing such an idea, just the only time she’s been direct about it. She previously tweeted support for Biden to put together a “shadow council” to re-open American industries.

Here’s a thought…👇 https://t.co/OzWNW0sWZ2

— Stephanie Ruhle (@SRuhle) April 13, 2020

But since Biden is no longer vice president and holds no official authority, it’s difficult to see how Ruhle thinks a “shadow”-anything would have any more authority under him than some anti-government militia led by a private citizen.

Malaria drugs could help to combat cancer

Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are drugs that are used to treat malaria, but a new review suggests that they may have another purpose: treating cancer.

The research — which reviewed more than 190 studies investigating how chloroquine (CQ) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) affect cancer cells — describes how the malaria drugs may increase tumor sensitivity to existing cancer treatments.

Based on their findings, first study author Ciska Verbaanderd, from the University of Leuven in Belgium, and her colleagues say that the drugs “deserve further clinical investigations in several cancer types.”

The review was recently published in the journal ecancermedicalscience.

While the United States has seen a fall in cancer death rates in recent years, the disease remains a significant burden on public health. Last year, there were more than 1.6 million new cancer cases diagnosed in the U.S. and more than 595,000 cancer deaths.

Given that cancer is increasingly becoming resistant to existing therapies, there is a desperate need to uncover new ways to fight the disease.

Verbaanderd and colleagues believe that the drugs CQ and HCQ could help in this fight.

CQ and HCQ are medications used to prevent and treat malaria. They may also be used in the treatment of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. A wealth of research, however, has suggested that these drugs may also have anti-cancer properties.

For their review, Verbaanderd and colleagues analyzed the results of more than 190 animal and human studies that assessed the effects of CQ and HCQ on different types of cancer.

According to the researchers, the aim of their review was “to inform further research and trials on repurposing CQ and HCQ as anti-cancer agents.”

The team uncovered evidence to suggest that CQ and HCQ could be effective for the treatment of a number of cancers, including glioblastoma — which is a deadly brain cancer — lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer.

“CQ and HCQ have been studied in multiple preclinical cancer models,” write the authors, “and have demonstrated activity on several cancer-supporting pathways and in combination with a broad range of other therapies.”

“[…] The majority of these studies have reported an improved therapeutic efficacy as compared with monotherapy with existing anti-cancer drugs,” they add.

The review also indicates that both drugs are “safe and tolerable” as an anti-cancer therapy, though current evidence suggests that HCQ might pose fewer side effects.

According to the team, their review highlights a number of mechanisms by which CQ and HCQ could help to treat cancer.

Firstly, there is evidence to suggest that the drugs can inhibit autophagy, which is the process whereby cells devour their own damaged or unnecessary components.

“Autophagic properties such as nutrient recycling can support cancer cell survival,” the authors note. “Moreover, key regulators of cell growth can be degraded and the DNA damage response can be suppressed through increased autophagy.”

“Therefore, inhibition of autophagy can be an interesting anti-cancer strategy when cancer cells start depending on autophagy for survival.”

The review also revealed that CQ and HCQ can block the CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling pathway, which previous research has associated with cancer progression.

Additionally, there is evidence that CQ can stabilize a protein called p53, which is a known tumor suppressor, and it may also help to normalize blood vessel dysfunction in tumors.

“The benefits of vessel normalization include a decrease in tumor hypoxia, reduced cancer cell intravasation and metastasis, and an increase in chemotherapeutic drug delivery and response,” the authors explain.

Overall, Verbaanderd and colleagues believe that their study has highlighted the potential benefits of CQ and HCQ as a cancer treatment, as well as the mechanisms behind their anti-cancer properties.

“The results from the review lead us to believe that these antimalarial drugs could offer significant clinical benefit for certain cancer patients, especially in combination with standard anti-cancer treatments. This should be confirmed by additional clinical results.”

Ciska Verbaanderd

The team notes that there are 30 clinical trials currently investigating the effects of CQ and HCQ against various cancer types.

Based on their review, the researchers conclude that these trials should focus on the efficacy of these medications, as well as the best doses and methods of administration.
