I think of it as you know more than you have, as in, you connect the dots.
With enough dots/drops, the image you create mentally becomes clearer.

I think that the idea of satanists would be to have more 'references'/'knowledge', by doing things humans are naturally opposed to, as in, killing, torture, cannibalism, pedophilia and other forms of degeneracy, to destroy the human nature of the mind.
satanists would ritualisticly commit these acts as if it would 'strengthen' them but all they learn is that they would be much better off not having done any of it, because now they have to think of every action they took instead of thinking how to avoid these actions simply by thinking as a human.
The role of the satanists is then to lure/fool more people into satanism to further go against the human mind, spreading the damage to those unbeknownst, by normalising degeneracy.
I agree that humans have greater power than any satanist will ever achieve, as humans act like humans by nature, satanists need to force themselves to act like satanists.
It is however strange that it is possible for anyone to act like a satanist, maybe the poisoning of humans through various forms of pollution and abuse leads humans in a wrong direction, but it is still a mystery how it even is possible, how it all started.
