Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports… And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. – George Washington, 1789 Farewell Address
In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,
"a loving God would not do that."
It is precisely because he is a loving God and a HOLY God that he will. So you are saying that you do not believe that Evil should be called to account?
By that reasoning we could say "A loving President wouldn't punish Child Molesters."
The statement is stupid and ridiculous. Of course a loving God would punish for eternity those who have violated his Holiness and rejected His offer of salvation in Jesus Christ.
No. I am referring to the full character of God not the perverse ideas of man that love means affirming that which is evil.
God's wrath will be revealed against all evil and ungodliness. His wrath is Eternal, just like Him. His Love is also Eternal and found in Jesus Christ.
It is now our choice. Choose life in Jesus and turn from evil, or reject God's love and experience His wrath.
