May 1st = International Labour Day

it was a big deal in the Soviet bloc countries during the Cold War. A celebration of the working class, blah blah blah

and even to this day in communist or formerly-communist countries, Int'l Labour Day is a big thing, mainly just bc folks don't have to go to work.

It's also right next to the big satanic holiday of April 30th.
