Seems I have to explain some WH protocol (lb) for people concerned with the presidential seal coming and going on the podium.

When it is the PRESIDENT's PODIUM, the presidential seal will be present and will mark that ownership of the podium. The president can invite people to speak at HIS podium at his discretion. But the podium at that time, belongs to the president. The podium commands the respect due the president at all times it bears the presidential seal.

For the WH coronavirus task force briefings, the podium belongs to the WH coronavirus task force. At this time it is not the 'presidential podium' but belongs to the task force. It is a shared podium, shared equally among members of the task force. It does not command presidential attention. So it bears a White House designation. The president speaks at this podium as a member of the task force, but the task force podium is not the presidential podium.

Even if it can be the same physical podium, its a presidential designation. It becomes PODIUM 1 like Air Force 1 and Marine 1 as it is 'owned' by the president during that designated period.
