Anyone every heard of the NCTA - The Internet and Television Association? These people are in control of the feed. This is nearly an entire leg of a big pyramid in the US. Looks like a nasty group of buggers.

Look at the Board make-up; CEO's and officers from Cox Cable, Discovery Channel, Mediacom, Fox Entertainment, Comcast, Viacom… These are the kings that control FCC policy through lobbying. These kings are the gatekeepers to mass communication and broadcasting.

This is the Harvest. The massive silos are filling to bursting with gold, oil, cash, piled up for centuries. The Pirate's booty, piling ever higher. The band is being broken up. The cops are seizing the booty. Harvesting it. Redistributing it back to the meek. That harvest will fund new ides, new innovations, new solutions for the new future we are going into. A future without the regulatory cartels and nepotistic monopolies controlling every aspect of our life.

Anon looks for solutions, always. Anon live on high ridge out in the country. Anon has shit for ISP options. Anon thinks, why not start my own fixed wireless ISP. 56% of my state has no access to broadband. Anon has fiber less than 1 mile away, privately owned tower site, with cheap reliable hydro-power, 75 sq/mi of line-of-sight coverage at 100' tower height. At a pop density of 42 people/sq/mi, that's nearly 1000 potential subscribers off 1 site.

Anon don't see any reason why my neighbors and I can't stand up a private, fixed-wireless, Internet Co-op. Nobody else is gonna take care of us, but us. Lack of access to broadband is locking half the country out of participating.

I think the odds of success of an idea like this being successful are pretty low, considering how fixed the system is. But, if you time an idea just right, you can catch a little ripple, and let it have control the progress, you get freedom to focus the balance. Now, with regulatory change in the air, might be the time. I dunno, but it's time to find a wave and ride it.

Business is business. It's matter of knowing the right questions, and answers, and who to talk to, before you start asking for meetings. I'd have to lurk moar, IRL and find out.
