I went through the file with a hex editor and found an extra piece of code in it. It's 60Kb of binary data in addition to the punisher image.
png format has the image data inside a "chunk" called an IDAT. There's 2 IDAT's in the file, one bigger which is the actual image and can be extracted without problems. The other can really be anything.
