Ventilators are expensive. Lots of money to be made by having a shortage of them. As always, find out who benefits from making ventilators and why there was such a big commotion (maybe it was only Cuomo) about needing them? Come to find out, ventilation was not that effective because once you go on one, there is a poor chance you'll come off them. The longer a patient is on the machine, the more money the hospital will make. So metaphorically speaking, ventilators are over-hyped. POTUS is using them as a case in point: You wanted something, we gave them to you, you don't need them, now it's something else you say you don't have (enough tests). Come to find out, we don't need that many tests because you'd have to test people constantly!
10-4 anon, good copy!
Some states are gonna be just fine. Many people in TX have received the extra $600 on their unemployment. That is going to add up in a few months and I think POTUS is right that there will be some pent up demand and the economy is going to take off like a rocket. In some places. Perhaps this is the beginning of the red v blue division of states – a shot heard round the world tonight – that will once and for all eliminate the Federal Government.
States will be independent "countries". A Board of Governors (one from each state) will decide matters of national and state security. States can join partnerships with each other (we're seeing that happening). In some states, there will be no more taxation of productivity - taxation on consumption, only. Other states will keep taxing citizens and some of those citizens will try to move to the other states, but they will need to apply for "citizenship". Illegal state crossers will be penalized heavily in some states. We'll see how different practices work in each state. If NY can't "rub two dimes together" perhaps they won't have many residents after long.
We're having a bake-off.
You are a kind person. But you know that!
The cubcakes were delicious!
