Anon currently pissed and hating having to deal with people…

>Got quote for $5500 to rip out old garage floor and put in new one (think $10/sq*ft, which is already outrageous)

>Contractor wants me to sign disclaimer that won't hold him responsible if driveway cracks from weight of truck.

>Already tore out garage floor

>Disclaimer had price that went up $500, while guy tearing out floor went down $100 for easy work and cash.

>reeeeeeeeeee

Fuggin' people piss anon off.

Meeting with asshole concrete guy in the morning and deciding whether to fire his ass.

>seemed like decent guy at the start…

>How thick will the slab be and how big is the truck, anon?

4" slab (which means 3 1/2" for 24x24 outside dimensions on a 4" drive with sand undersoil during freeze/thaw conditions.) Call it seven yards. Could crack some shit, but that habbens.

What pisses anon off is the price changing as soon as the garage floor started getting ripped out. Makes anon want to pour that shit muhself just to piss off a guy who's word isn't good.

>Depends on the state, but you can sometimes report the contractors for that kind of shit. Dunno if you signed a contract to start with.

>With truck use, I'd probably feel safer with 5" (of course they want to cheapen it). Depends on the strength too.

Oral contract on doing the job. Hand-written note on the rest.

Could fire the guy pretty easy, just debating what's best.

Thinking that I'll just hash it out with him tomorrow over $2700 vs $3200 for a day's labor, and fire his ass if he insists on jacking up the price after I was vulnerable. Anon isn't above doing shit on his own…he just hates doing concrete.

The truck will need to come and possibly wreck the drive regardless…it's just a question of who calls in the order.

>Tell him you'll pay the full amount if the drive don't crack kek. You could always try checking if the plant has trucks with longer hoses so it can stay in the street. Good luck to you, anon.

ALL YOU DICKHEADS ARE WORRIED ABOUT THE DRIVEWAY GETTING A CRACK OR TWO WHEN THE ASSHOLE CONCRETE GUY IS JACKING UP THE PRICE A WEEK'S WORTH OF WAGES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE JOB

Freddy has some good points with his red text rants…

>You don't deal with contractors very often, do you?

Not moar than humanly possible, anon. Fuggin contractors are the bane of muh existence…which is why I do 90% of shit myself.

Except in the rare majority of cases, it takes moar energy to manage those fuggers than doing the job yourself.
