>The human ego, mixed with the mysterious mysteries, produces an endless pouring forth of savants, circles, orders and "bosses of the inner circle." It simply must be recognized (note the imperative) that these are all "outer orders," staffed, manned and run by human beings along metaphysical lines. If it's got an office or a head-man on the physical plane, then it's an "outer order." Members of an outer order are all operating in "the lower three worlds," that is: Malkuth-Yesod-Hod-Netzach and, in most cases, the best we can do is attribute the "top gun" to Dominus Liminis, or the Dweller on the Threshhold who is hanging around with the Veil of Paroketh. The amount of "ego" that can be wielded from this position gives rises to the quaint tales and merry myths of our historical legends. Everyone steals or otherwise mis-appropriates emblems and rites from the Grand Lodge and from those other pesky upstarts. Duels are fought over these matters and brethren enter courtrooms together to wage legal battle.
It's strange, but expected (especially now), that you utilize the word "circles."
I was around 16 - 17 years old, standing around the best part of my local Barnes & Noble, the "New Age" section. I used to love perusing around this area of the store because it wasn't the Macromedia and CSS design texts that I frequently would 'Johnny 5,' in order to absorb as much 'free' knowledge as I could, during the available time slot allotted to me before the ride would take me back home. The books in this section, almost called out to me, like The Spirit Molecule by Dr. Rick Straussman, or How to tell your own Horoscope for Dummies, or reading tarot cards, etc. It was then I was approached one day by an older black gentlemen, who had noticed I had an interest in this 'occult rhetoric' as he put it. He said the only thing you have to remember is; "You have two 'circles,' an inner circle, and an outer circle. You keep at maximum, 5-6 people in the inner circle, and the rest goes in the outer one."
He said, "As time goes on, you can layer in, more circles; but never overlap them, and never let the inner circle increase in occupancy."
I played along and thanked him for advice, but something always felt a little too separatist about what he had said, especially for a black person. You'd assume he'd be the more inclusive type. Nonetheless, he was well dressed, in a casual sort of way, and spoke very articulately. Bugged me out at first, but it stuck with me.
He was right, but wrong. I think what he had failed to include, was the advent of technology; specifically the WWW [world-wide-web], the spiders [all in tune], and the neural network.*
