Military aircraft crashes near Plaster City

SEELEY - A U.S.Marine corps CH-53E helicopter with multiple on board crashed about six miles from Plaster City Tuesday afternoon. Multiple fatalities have been reported. Rescue crews struggle to get out to crash site. Reach Air sent two helicopters shortly before 4:00 p.m., according to spokesperson Donny Wharton.

 

The military is sending aircraft to the site to access the situation.

 

NAF is directing all inquiries to their Facebook page.

 

The CH-53E is the Marines heavy lift operator with three engines, seven blades, and can carry up to 50 combat-ready marines or 30,000 pounds of cargo.

A U.S. Army Apache attack helicopter crashed in the predawn hours early Saturday while flying a routine training mission at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California.

Both the pilot and the co-pilot were killed, according to Lt. Col. Jason S. Brown, a spokesman for the Army at the Pentagon.
