Newsom’s secretive $1-billion mask deal with Chinese automaker sparks bipartisan concerns.

"Almost two weeks after he announced the deal during a cable TV interview, very few details have been disclosed. The governor’s advisors have so far declined requests for information about the agreement with BYD, the Chinese electric car manufacturer hired to produce the masks, though the state has already wired the company the first installment of $495 million…

…But a bipartisan chorus of concerns has emerged in the Legislature. Lawmakers have grown increasingly frustrated that the governor’s advisors have asked only for expedited approval to spend money without briefing them on what has been agreed to."

Twatter holds back DJT Twats so as to give the Krassenstein bros first crack. I suspect there will be a concerted effort to make sure those two bros don't get any sleep, very soon. No sauce, just an observation.

This is a margin failure. A risk manager, probably with ETF "USO", did something extremely stupid going into contract expiration. long 109,000 contracts when they didn't have the cash, nor the storage location, to take delivery of 109,000,000 bbls of oil. So, into an illiquid may contract market, they were allowed to buy spreads, which allowed the May contract to go negative. (Spread, buying one longer dated month, like say "June" and selling May, just to get out of the immediate problem.

This is known as "kicking the can down the road". Well, they still don't have the money to cover owning the June contract. So the selling will continue until morale improves.

This is really going to fuck up Roboadvising and expose BlackRock's Aladdin program as a beeeg underlying problem, since it's The Street's software for ALL RoboAdvising. All of it.
