I was looking at the notables on wearthene.ws and saw the discussion on closing meat plants / human meat.

The meat-processing & packing plants that are getting employee infections and limiting hours is due to how their factory floor is structured. Machines can do some things but not all, and for efficiency's sake, everything is in close quarters and each person on the line has a specific job they repeat all day, and they are right next to others doing the next thing in the process. If one gets sick, it will spread very quickly among the staff because there is not way possible, with the current factory floor setup, to be 6' apart.

I have a good friend who is a farmer of livestock (cows, pigs, sheep, goats, ducks, and turkeys) all pastured (not crowded and mass-farmed) and I go over there a lot. This farmer is good to their animals and has them processed locally which also packages them. The farmer does not sell wholesale but to individuals and I've gone with them on deliveries and also helped them do inventory. I have not gone to the processor they use, but have been there when they have cattle/pigs loaded up on to go there. And, I have been there when they picked up their product from the processor and helped them do inventory and put it up in the freezers.

I thought it was important to speak up and say that not all meat is human meat and there are normal, good and decent people who do run farms today and grow/produce healthy food for us, the public.

In suburban and rural areas it is possible to have relationships to local farmers and skip the middle-man. Food co-ops were such a good idea, it's a shame there aren't more of them, though we could see that picking up again. Another great thing is community garden plots - I have some family in another state who have taken 2 plots and they are kicking ass.

Hopefully this will gain steam and be revived as more and more people wake up.

>could there really be that many animals for so much meat?

Yes. This is a prime example of why people, as individuals, need to learn about cuts of meat on each animal. There are diagrams of a cow (beef) for example. Not knowing what your food is or where it comes from or how it's raised & processed leads to confusion and speculation.

People who raise cattle have herds, some larger than others. There is a logical system of birth, breeding, separation, and taking them to the processor at a certain age, and some even age the beef.

You need a sense of humor.

Das rite! It's for both the lulz and gentle reminder that proper English is not "elite" or snobbery, we should be able to, at a minimum, read/write speak it properly.

It's our motherfucking primary language, and for many here, the only language.

This is a very good point.

Learning and having to use syntax of other languages does actually force the brain to work differently. Consider if your primary language is constructed of ideograms, like Chinese, and the syntax is not relevant as every ideogram can be a noun, verb, or anything else, not to mention that inflection carries the meaning withing speech. And then learning any language that uses individual characters to form words and syntax is very important but inflection is somewhat important it is not everything in speech.

Those who get butthurt about Grammar kitty provide much amusement! But I find laughing at myself to be a great way to stay sane.

The funniest one is the one who apparently actually believes that Grammar kitty possesses people. That anon said that anyone who posts Grammar kitty is possessed by some demon. It took me a while to stop laughing after that one.
