“…At the University of Wisconsin, Madison, “I think we’re all rather underwhelmed” at what’s been seen among the few patients there who’ve tried it, said Dr. Nasia Safdar, medical director of infection control and prevention…”
Comments like this reinforce my already declining opinion of this profession.
I am leery of academics, even M.D.’s, who “practice” medicine in the University Hospitals. Sometimes I feel most doctors (in fairness, not all) like to play “god” and use patients as tests cases. Try a higher dose with this person and a lower dose here and chalk it up to medical/pharma/research trials.
I worry about the Veterans and the children, the most vulnerable in this situation.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) has a huge medical center on campus: University Hospital, Wisconsin Institute for Medical Research, Health Science Learning Center, American Family Children’s Hospital, Veterans Administration Hospital…all the buildings are connected.
Scan the campus map and look at the various departments and programs, what do you see. . .Genetics and Medical Genetics. Whatever that includes sends a chill up my spine.
