Approx 15 years ago while driving into work listening to local talk radio in the last city I lived in.
There was a local inventor that did an interview live on air and apparently he invented a laser beam that carried an audio signal and he explained it thoroughly. I was intrigued and wanted to invest into his invention however was a broke dick slave at the time.
He was explaining that he could point it at the person standing beside you from 1,000 meters away and only the target person would hear the message sent. He said he wanted to put it in grocery stores so that when you walked past an item you would hear the sale price etc.
I though, this will will be huge and never heard from it again. Gone, not ever a mention of it.
