What it shows is that self-imposed ignorance is extremely effective strategy. I do marvel at how well it works and how they actually convinced otherwise good people to look only at one book, or approved discourses on that one book, and that everything outside that is automatically invalid. Along with that, they were able to craft "prophecy" and by controlling the "prophets" and the interpretation of those prophecies (Scofield Ref bible, for example), with the control of social, educational, economic systems, have been able to engineer situations in which those so ignorant actually believe those prophecies (via the controlled interpretation by their minions: Hagee, et al)) are coming true, thereby an additional level of control of so many weak and ignorant minds.
It is a true feat of evil genius. I don't respect them for it, but I do recognize it.
