Babel (Babylon) was about human and fallen spritual beings united against God to raise themselves to be like God. They were building a tower to heaven. The top of towers/mountains were gods reside (at least they has was how they saw it). Think step-pyramids and pyramids also.
So God scattered them so the whole of humanity and the demons wouldn't be united against him. Punishing their arrogance. He divided the powers of the demons. But He said okay if you want to worship false Gods go ahead. And that's why other religions around the world got created God allowed it. And He would focus His attention and partner with righteous people and form a relationship with them—that's the Jewish people. And then when Jesus comes, He is bringing everyone back in. "Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand." In Jesus, God is saying it's time for everyone to be a part of the kingdom of God again and we are all one in Christ. And when Jesus comes again, He will come as a conquering king to claim His place and enact justice for evil and punish Satan and the demons.

The bible shows many people having dreams were God is communicating with them.
Since people have nightmares, I think demons could also influence our dreams.
Pray for discernment, and encourage you to study people who got dreams in the bible, there are many.
