We are all but shards of the creator (made in his image - a spark of light - just inhibiting different flesh garments for different experiences / learnings).
There is different dimensions, and each step higher is a step closer to the creator (The Source of All)… We all have higher dimensional aspects, but are only really geared to listen to the one closest to you.
Think octaves of music on a piano. Our chakra systems have octaves (vibrations) above and below our 3d chakras.. Above the crown is the 8th Chakra, which essentially is the link to your higher self and all of your higher selves "octaves / vibrations / frequencies" uup and up and up….. alll the way to The Creator, Source of All.
