Not many bills listed but found two from 2006 to promoted using UV light for water treatment.

โ€œ(3) OPTIONS FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT ON USE OF INHERENTLY SAFER TECHNOLOGY.โ€”

โ€œ(A) IN GENERAL.โ€”Not later than 90 days after the date on which the owner or operator of a high-consequence water facility receives notice under paragraph (1)(B), the owner or operator shall submit to the Administrator an options feasibility assessment that describesโ€”

โ€œ(i) an estimate of the costs that would be directly incurred by the high-consequence water facility in transitioning from the use of the current technology used for 1 or more substances of concern to inherently safer technologies; and

โ€œ(ii) comparisons of the costs and benefits to transitioning between different inherently safer technologies, including the use ofโ€”

 

โ€œ(I) sodium hypochlorite;

 

โ€œ(II) ultraviolet light;

 

โ€œ(III) other inherently safer technologies that are in use within the applicable industry; or

 

โ€œ(IV) any combination of the technologies described in subclauses (I) through (III).

I think Dan and his sales team was fed up with uninformed people wanting to purchase medical equipment for home diy medical experiments. Hopefully now they can concentrate on supplying their medical clients.

 

BBC ain't too bright. Nobody has been recommending UVC as a diy medical treatment. UK still prefers separate spigots for hot and cold water.
