Every bird and animal I have met, both domestic livestock, wild animals, wild birds, cat and dog pets, chickens, has a mind and memory and understanding and spirit. If you get to know them each one has a personality, likes and dislikes, attachment to others. Some display true altruism even across species, like the time the mare brought down a leafy green oak branch to feed the mama cow who was lactating, during a dry season. Even the little rodents like chipmunks and squirrels, have intelligence and knowledge and emotion and memory. They know who they trust and who they don't. If you spend a lifetime living among and observing animals, you develop a deeper understanding of their God-given nature. Wanton killing is off the menu once you have developed a close rapport with each bird of the field and each wild animal in your domain. They are so much more like people than you will ever know if you just go around blasting them. Many develop a good understanding of language. Some emulate human language and behavior, in order to communicate with humans they spend time with.
Do not kill wantonly. It does not please the Creator.
