For what it's worth, small business anon here had an interesting day and an encounter with a microbiologist who just got back from Italy, works for CDC and an unrelated client who's whole family just had COVID-19.

I had 1st encountered the microbiologist in December. He was getting ready to retire and needed some electronic repair work done, I gave him a quote and he said he'd call when he was free. 1st week in March he comes in and tells me he got called out of retirement to go to Italy for the CDC. He dropped off his equipment to be repaired and came back today to pick it up.

I asked him about his time in Italy and I pointed out he was not wearing a mask and asked, "what do you know that I don't know, should I not be wearing mine?". He says "no, no, you should wear it" and he put his on.

Then he tells me this virus is like nothing else they have ever seen and it almost seems like it targets something in the blood. They don't know what it is, but it has something to do with either blood type or something that is in the blood of some, but not others. He also said the fatalities are only when people have hypertension, diabetes, cancer or some other underlying issue. Then he starts talking about vaccines. Before he leaves he looks at me and says "Do not get the flu shot and do not get the vaccine for this either. Flu shots make you sick."

Later on in my day I get a call from another client needing some work done, he tells me he just got over this and was laid up for 2 weeks. He said he had a 103 degree fever that lasted 6 days. He also has COPD. He said he was sick for 2 weeks and even now, he still is very tired and weak. Then he tells me everyone in the family got it - his daughter and grandkids too. I asked how the kids handled it and he said "It was nothing for them, they had a slight fever for a couple days, but played and ate like normal". His daughter was very sick.

His wife did not get it. I asked him if he gets a flu shot, he told me yes, every year he gets one because he worries about his grandkids catching it from him if he got sick. Then he tells me "In fact, everyone in the family got a flu shot this year, except for my wife". Then I told him what that microbiologist told me. He had not made the connection previously. Was an interesting day. Unfortunately can't post any sauce, don't want to dox myself or my clients.

Yes, anon this makes sense to me too. Spouse anon thought it was a parasite as well. They read about a study using the same drug used to treat pets for heart-worm was being used to treat it successfully.

I think it's also used to treat lice, Ivermectin. "The FDA-approved drug ivermectin inhibits the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in vitro"

Drives me nuts. I tell my elderly parents not to get it each year. I can usually convince my dad, but my mom is a stubborn mule and she gets one each year. And she is done staying home and letting me shop for her so I worry about them.
