the diagrams you present are not spiraling electric currents. light (EM radiation) consists of a pair of conjoined waves, one magnetic and the other electrostatic, mutually perpendicular to one another and to the direction of propagation, as shown in the second image of your OP. they are normally depicted as in phase. the GIF that comes first shows the light (EM radiation) that results when the magnetic and electrostatic waves are OUT OF PHASE, resulting in circularly polarized light. i have seen countless diagrams of circularly polarized light that show the resultant vector sum rotating around the axis of propagation, but no one has ever made it clear (to me) before that this is the result of B and E being out of phase! so simple!
electric CURRENTS are discrete electrons flowing thru a conductor. the diagrams you are tossing around represent electric FIELDS in empty space. totally different animal. no such thing as circular currents, except in a loop of wire.
