faggot (n.1)
late 13c., "bundle of twigs bound up," also fagald, faggald, from Old French fagot "bundle of sticks" (13c.), of uncertain origin, probably from Italian fagotto "bundle of sticks," diminutive of Vulgar Latin *facus, from Latin fascis "bundle of wood" (see fasces).
Especially used for burning heretics (emblematic of this from 1550s), so that phrase fire and faggot was used to indicate "punishment of a heretic." Heretics who recanted were required to wear an embroidered figure of a faggot on the sleeve as an emblem and reminder of what they deserved.
Council of Nicea, 325 AD
Catholicism was born as a political compromise
A bit too far out to have been sanctioned by Christ
I agree. Any intermediary between the person, and the God that they believe in, is subject to being comped, and there've been thousands of years of people doing just that to further their own agendas. Personally, as a child I felt that my connection to God was MUCH better before I learned anything about religion. Simple questions that no one could answer "If God is everywhere, why can't I just talk to him instead of going to church?" "Insert illogical answers from adults here" "Why does it say here and the Bible, but then says here? That's confusing!" "Insert angry illogical answers from adults here"
Individual, case-by-case judgment, another thing that mankind seems to have trouble with, condemning entire groups., while saying that God knows best. The Great Awakening will be/is a rude awakening for many.
>paul corrupted jesus teaching to say women have to submit
>there you have it
Old Testament, Genesis 2:18-25 what is woman for man? Did Paul "corrupt" that too? No.
>count the extra exclamation points, so that the count is 187
Most likely, if we're supposed to count them at all.
Never said servant, shows where you're coming from to believe that that was what I implied. Who hurt you?
If you want to get technical, man and woman serve one another. What one can't do, the other does. So, BOTH are servants, if you want to use that word. Say it with me: cooperation.
I'll biteโฆ
1) I'm not a Protestant, or a Catholic, or Christian at all, or Muslim, or any of that. I'm a truth seeker, and a Man of God. I have no religion, nor religious tendencies to defend. I Go with God. No intermediaries needed.
2) Find out what the original Nicene Creed from 325 AD was. And look into it's revisions.
3) Having read every scripture available, including lost gospels, it's safe to say that stepping outside of the Bible would be your best bet. It's not evil to do so.
4) Compare the Nicene Creed with what Christ actually taught. You'll see the differences easily if you don't go in with prejudices.
A sense of humor will do you fine.
What I implied was that submission works both ways. Many make it about women submitting to men, when men do as women request as well in real life when the cooperation is 50/50. At the end of the day however, only one can be lead. Man is better qualified for that.
