Notice the distortion that occurs on the epstein tennis court when you flip between 2D and 3D. I tried it on a bunch of random tennis courts from random angles, and none of them act like that. Definitely just painted over, not even covered up in reality.

Since you seem knowledgable on the topic, how accurate is the distance measuring tool built into google maps? Because the width of the tennis court measured via that technique is pretty off from the width of an actual tennis court (36 ft vs 27 ft)
