Birx on with Tapper. He questioned her about our testing 'shortage'.
She kind of shut him down when she told him that the biggest problem with testing ability is that many of the material needed for the tests are manufactured overseas and we don't have control over them.
she told him the best thing to come of this is for us to start manufacturing the supplies here in the US, or at least on this continent.
Tapper switched immediately to talk about states opening up to soon. She is hitting back on this too. She is telling him that the govs are talking to CDC because the CDC has a strong presence in each state now. She said Govs are also talking to each other all the time.
So then tapper to moves on to antibody testing and how the CDC is testing for it and monitoring the use of plasma for treatment. She said we are doing everything ever proposed and suggested on the antibody front.
He finally asked her about injecting disinfectants.
she said he was having that dialogue between the other guy and herself. She said that kind of dialogue happens all the time in discussions.
She then explained the impetus of the dialogue which was a recent study on sunlight killing virus.
Tapper argued, no, he was talking about taking that study and injecting things in your body.
Doesn't that bother you, he asked
What bothers me, she said, is that this is still a discussion.
