Sorry, should have included a possibility of this "aster" reference being to the Astors. Perhaps this is about places related to the Astors, who were at one point called "the landlords of NY", and they had the famous Waldorf=Astoria Hotel, and of course, there's Astoria, Queens. The Gold Coast district in Chicago…towns in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, and Kansas, Illinois, Missouri, Oregon.
There's also a location south of Green Bay, Wisconsin named "Astor Park".
But perhaps the focus should be Mackinac Island, Michigan, where there is the Grand Hotel with its Lord and Lady Astor Suites and its salon, the Astor's. I just say this area around Michigan because of all the military air traffic just recently around the Lakes region.
Hmmmm…..found this:

The history of the Astor Services:
"Astor Services for Children & Families — originally the Astor Home for Boys and later the Astor Home for Children — was established in 1953 in response to an initiative of the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene to create children’s residential treatment programs that would reduce the need for psychiatric hospitalization of children."
"Its first home — now the agency’s administrative offices and its residential treatment center — was located in Rhinebeck, NY on property donated by Vincent Astor to the Archdiocese of New York. At its inception, The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul assumed administrative responsibility for the agency. Later, administration of the Astor agency passed to a staff of committed and innovative professionals who are responsible for the wide range of services and programs which today constitute Astor Services for Children & Families."

The Bronx Services:
In the Bronx, Astor provides services through children’s outpatient clinics, day treatment, a therapeutic nursery, family support, and a school-based initiative; a prevention program funded by the Administration for Children’s Services is operated by Astor as well. We are located in the Williamsbridge Section of the Bronx to help Community Districts 10, 11, & 12.
