When Ambassador Ric Grenell took over as America’s acting intelligence czar earlier this year, he inherited a Director of National Intelligence Office that had ballooned in both size and mission.
Created after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks to ensure better communication and coordination between the 17 main intelligence agencies, ODNI had swelled by this year to 1,800 employees — many with senior salaries — and a similar number of contractors.

anon comments: The DNI removed C_A from direct hierarchy, prior the clowns were on the top hierarchy and fulfilled the role of final accountability. DNI allowed the clowns to be answer to no one (especially the public, no that they did anyway). The current DNI structure hierarchy allows C_A to be at the top of the food chain, receiving all the intel from the others and sharing none with anyone, they are essentially parallel to DNI, but without the responsibility to the others, and what they share based upon their level is gained directly or often through DNI. Clowns have DNI direct efforts domestically based upon C_A assessment and intel which is not shared or vetted by others. In other words they can make things up and have the entire IC act on it without even the DNI responsible for verifying accuracy. Think PDB and Russia, Russia, Russia, this was their DNI plan in action and we watched it real time. 3+ yrs later we learn it was c_a all along, with intel/evidence all made up/created. c_a (phony intel)>dni (uses it as legit, cannot vetfbi (uses c_a originated phony intel to overthrow trump). DNI establishment allowed c_a to be coup intel agency.
DNI was a scam to give c_a moar power and virtually no accountability.
