you have to know what you are seeing.
sensing is a manner of having the ability to tell.
of course there is always that idea of 'Strong Delusion' that puts blinders on someone, so in that sense it's not them you see but what the delusion shows you.
but if you are a person with insight, your impressions, what you see in someone, usually have a basis in what they are to you . . .
so it is tainted in that respect.
for me I was blind to a particular quality of neffarious assholishness, due to wanting friends.
