It is a waste of time – and a shitload of server resources – to have to actually go back to the original thread when the server has already presented an image of the cited poast.

I frequently pass along stuff from the kun through e-mail to keep family with less free time informed. Why waste my time when the server has already fetched the comment … I'm looking at it but I cannot copy it. FK, I cannot even grab it as a screen cap.

No you can't. You have never - ever - seen your original birth certificate. The VERY best you have seen is a photocopy.

The last time I had occasion to request my birth certificate I didn't get a photocopy of the original or even a print of the microfilmed record. I got a digitized representation … which is at least three steps from an original. Try it. I dare you.
