Shock new development as children fall ill with syndrome similar to severe Covid-19

Children have largely been spared from the coronavirus. But now British GPs have warned of youngsters being hit by a mysterious virus-like syndrome that may be an offshoot of the virus, or a new infectious pathogen.

An “urgent alert” has been issued to British doctors as what seems to be a serious coronavirus-related syndrome that affects children emerges in the population.

On Monday, the Health Service Journal reported that they had been shown a memo which was sent to general practitioners in North London practices by their clinical commissioning group. The Paediatric Intensive Care Society sent another memo marked “significant alert” on Sunday night, confirming the worrying news.

The alerts say that, over the past three weeks, “there has been an apparent rise in the number of children of all ages presenting with a multisystem inflammatory state requiring intensive care across London and also in other regions of the UK.” They continue: “There is a growing concern that a [Covid-19] related inflammatory syndrome is emerging in children in the UK, or that there may be another, as yet unidentified, infectious pathogen associated with these cases.”

This alert also states: “Please refer children presenting with these symptoms as a matter of urgency.”

Severe symptoms

This mysterious syndrome bears similarities to severe Covid-19. According to the alerts, “The cases have in common overlapping features of toxic shock syndrome and atypical Kawasaki Disease with blood parameters consistent with severe Covid-19 in children.”Kawasaki Disease is a rare immune system disorder that usually affects children younger than five years old, causing severe fever and virus-like symptoms. Other symptoms of the new syndrome include abdominal pain, gastrointestinal symptoms and cardiac inflammation.

Citing Privacy Concerns, Israel Ends Cellphone Location Tracking For Enforcement of Quarantine

The government of Israel suspended a program enacted last month at the behest of the prime minister’s government granting the police the authority to track roaming and location data of those under quarantine order. A parliamentary oversight committee held that the loss of privacy was a greater cost to society than the proffered benefit of tracking those suspected of carrying or transmitting the COVID-19 virus.

The underlying technology used to track civilian COVID patients stems from that developed for Shin Bet (The Israeli General Security Service) for counter-terrorist tracking of cell phones carried by security risks to the state. In this case the technology was co-opted for use against medical patients health officials suspected might violate quarantine orders.

While the reversal of policy is welcomed, it does provide a proof that any technology or power crafted under the promise of addressing a great and manifest danger to the people or the state usually finds a way to be used against ordinary citizens when politicians or government become tempted to broaden its application under “emergency” conditions.

The government invoked an emergency coronavirus regulation having a one month sunset to extend law enforcement powers into the ability to track the movement of suspected coronavirus victims. The regulation caused civil liberties organizations to file legal actions against the state on privacy grounds. While the prime minister’s office attempted to pass an extension to the tracking regulation, the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee blocked the effort. Committee Member Ayelet Shaked tweeted “The utility offered by this (cellphone tracking) is outweighed by the great harm inflicted to privacy.” He believes that the police could instead maintain tracking levels by conventional means such as telephone calls and in-person visits without violating privacy.

The committee determined that police made five hundred random cellphone location pings per day against 13,500 persons enumerated on a list maintained by the health ministry. Police reported over two hundred arrests of quarantine absconders and that the cellphone location data played a role in the apprehensions and evidence gathering. Fifteen percent of home-quarantined persons were estimated by the health ministry to have violated the terms of their detention.

One could argue that the location ability certainly made enforcement more efficient, however it is not without shortcomings aside from privacy. The movement of a cellphone is not in of itself a guarantee that a particular person actually is in possession of the phone. It could be just as easily a family member or the device could be stolen.

Serial Rapist Cop Found with ‘Hundreds of Thousands of Images’ of Victims on His Phone

Urbana, IL — In December, University of Illinois police officer Jerald “Jerry” Sandage, was arrested and charged with official misconduct for allegedly using police resources to look up personal information on women, while both on and off duty. He was let out shortly after and now finds himself back in the same Piatt County jail after being arrested again — this time for the rape of multiple women, who were all unconscious at the time of their rapes.

Sandage is accused of disgusting acts of rape on unwilling and unconscious victims. Illustrating the extremely depraved nature of his acts is the fact that the victims never knew they had been raped until seeing the photos of it. One of the victims found out from Sandage himself after he showed her the photos and videos of him raping her and then blackmailed her for more sex by threatening to expose an extramarital affair.

Because Sandage was a cop, he has managed to escape accountability for his actions for years. In fact, some of the charges Sandage is currently facing stem from a 2018 investigation that originated when one of the victims went to Illinois State Police with her claims of rape.

However, according to the News-Gazette, the office of the state appellate prosecutor, appointed at the time because Sandage was still a UI police officer, declined to file criminal charges in that case.

They are likely regretting that decision as it allowed Sandage to victimize at least one victim, but potentially countless others.

Not until 2019 did his own department find that he was using police resources to look up personal information on his victims to stalk them. Once this was uncovered, State’s Attorney Julia Rietz filed seven counts of official misconduct against Sandage in December.

After his arrest on multiple counts of misconduct, the allegations that were once thrown out due to his blue privilege, received a second look. Other victims were then interviewed and Sandage’s phone was searched. What they found was an incredibly disturbing profile of a serial rapist with countless victims going back years.

“They found hundreds of thousands of images and pieces of data going back years,” Rietz said. “There are still potential victims out there that have not been identified yet.”

Police Cancel Drone Spying, Showing Resistance to the COVID-19 Police State Works

Westport, CT — America is currently in utter turmoil. After panic buying emptied shelves across the country, millions of unemployed people began spending their last dollar on food, hundreds of cities have been placed on lockdown, and cops are using Chinese-made patrol drones to monitor citizens 24-hours a day. In a matter of weeks, America has shifted from the land of the free to the land of the economic collapse and newly ushered in police state. The level of fear among the populace is at an all time high and the authoritarians are exploiting it. When the citizens of Westport expressed their anger to the city’s plan to use drone technology to spy on its citizens by making sure they are adhering to social distancing guidelines, two days later, the program was shut down.

In an announcement last week, the Westport police department announced the end of the program and even cited the concerned citizens as a factor in the decision.

Police Chief Foti Koskinas announced today that, after careful consideration and in collaboration with First Selectman Jim Marpe, the Westport Police Department has chosen not to participate in the Draganfly drone “Flatten the Curve Pilot Program.”

The Department’s recent announcement of its plan to partner and participate in a test of new drone technology has resulted in varied expressions of public concern and reservations. Though the police department only claimed they would use them for monitoring crowds, as Reason.com points out, “these drones were much more intrusive than simply looking for crowds. Draganfly’s drone-mounted biometric monitoring tools are even more sinister, dystopian, and potentially abusive. The drone is able to quickly measure whether people are six feet apart from each other, and Draganfly claims it can also measure heart rate, body temperature, and other vital signs, which suggests that a drone might be able to spot potential infections from above.”

Nancy Pelosi Endorses Joe Biden: ‘The Personification of Integrity’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden for president, calling him “a leader who is the personification of hope and courage, values, authenticity, and integrity,” as the presumptive Democrat nominee faces a sexual assault allegation from his former Senate staffer, Tara Reade.

Pelosi, in a prerecorded video shared Monday to social media, praised Biden as a “voice of reason” with experience in helping enact legislation like the Obama administration’s 2009 stimulus program.

“I am proud to endorse Joe Biden for president of the United States because he will be an extraordinary president,” Pelosi said. “He knows how to get the job done.”

She added: “When our nation faced the Great Recession, it was Joe Biden who led the implementation – and the accountability – of the Recovery Act, helping create and save millions of jobs. When the Democratic Congress was passing the Affordable Care Act, Joe Biden was a partner for progress in the White House and also championed the Cancer Moonshot.”

Pelosi’s endorsement follows former President Barack Obama, who waited until Biden all but wrapped up the nomination to announce his support for his former vice president.

The House Speaker’s endorsement also comes as new evidence supporting Reade’s assault claim has resurfaced. A 1993 video, dug up by NewsBusters, appears to show Reade’s mother discussing her daughter’s “problems” with a “prominent senator” on CNN’s Larry King Live.

France: Police union publishes video of brutal assault (VIDEO)

Synergie-Officiers, France’s union for police officers, published a video last week of a man being brutally assaulted earlier this month, saying that this is becoming the norm in France’s migrant areas.

The attack, which took place in the Villeneuve-la-Garenne suburb of Paris, occurred on April 10, after riots that had taken place in the vicinity. A man wearing a motorcycle helmet while approaching his vehicle, and who appears to be minding his own business in the video, was approached by several “youths” who attacked without provocation. The man was punched and kicked repeatedly. One of his assailants took a photo of him before the group left him for dead, according to a report by France Bleu.

The victim, who police say is 21, was hospitalized, and was forced to take a 15-day leave of absence from work.

The police are still investigating, and no arrests have yet been made. It has been suggested that the attack may have been carried out for revenge, but the motive is still unknown.

Last week, Synergie-Officiers published a video of the incident that had been taken by a surveillance camera on Twitter. “This is the reality of our neighborhoods when scum, who are allegedly oppressed by the police, displace the republican order!” the accompanying text reads. “Arbitrariness, savagery, and terror.”

As of now the video has been viewed nearly 450,000 times and has sparked a debate about the ongoing violence in France’s migrant areas.

Riots have become a common occurrence in France’s urban areas in recent weeks, with attacks on police and other responders becoming a nightly problem, as previously reported by Voice of Europe. The police are especially under pressure right now in trying to enforce the country’s ongoing lockdown in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Pelosi on Next Relief Package: ‘We Will Be Supporting Vote-By-Mail’

In a Monday interview on “MSNBC Live,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) revealed that Democrats will be pushing for a vote-by-mail provision in the next relief package amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Pelosi told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle vote-by-mail is “very important” because of the ongoing “health issue.” She also stressed the importance of protecting the “life of our democracy.”

“In this next bill, we will be supporting vote-by-mail in a very important way — we think it’s a health issue at this point,” Pelosi said. “And I didn’t want to leave this conversation without mentioning the importance of … the livelihood, the life of our people, the livelihood of themselves and our economy and the life of our democracy.”

Although some states already practice vote-by-mail, Democrats have been pushing to allow it country-wide for the 2020 presidential election as a way to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. However, Republicans, including President Donald Trump, have pushed back against the idea due to the potential increase in voter fraud.

Merkel Ally Tells UK: Extend Transition Period Until up to 2023

A member of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union has said that the United Kingdom must extend the Brexit transition period because of coronavirus.

The chairman of the foreign affairs committee in the German parliament, Norbert Röttgen, said that Prime Minister Boris Johnson must agree to extend the transition period for up to two years to avoid the alleged economic damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Before the current coronavirus crisis, I think it would have been possible to have a minimum agreement with the UK on the broad outlines to avoid a crash [the UK leaving without deal], with more detailed negotiations then taking place afterwards.

“I can’t imagine now that this is possible, given the fact that all the EU countries, Brussels and London are so absorbed by the pandemic – and this will go on. Given this situation, I don’t believe that there is a realistic possibility any longer to even achieve the necessary minimum. So you have to extend,” Mr Röttgen told The Observer on Sunday.

The UK has until June 30th to agree to an extension of the transition period; however, the British government has passed a law making it illegal to extend the Brexit deadline beyond December 31, 2020. Boris’s government has previously said that if sufficient progress is not made on a deal by June, it would pull out of negotiations and prepare for an orderly move onto a World Trade Organization (WTO) relationship with the bloc in time for 2021.

Germany, which is due to take over the sixth-monthly-rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1st, will be pressing for the transition period to be extended, according to a Monday report in The Times.

New Zealand has 'achieved elimination' of coronavirus and PM Jacinda Ardern says the country has won the first 'battle' as lockdown restrictions are relaxed

New Zealand has 'achieved elimination' of coronavirus as Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern claimed the country has scored a significant victory against the spread of Covid-19.

The country has been following an elimination strategy with the goal of completely ending the transmission of coronavirus within its borders.

'There is no widespread, undetected community transmission in New Zealand,' Ardern declared on Monday. 'We have won that battle.'

Ashley Bloomfield, New Zealand's Director General of Health, said the low number 'does give us confidence that we've achieved our goal of elimination. That never meant zero but it does mean we know where our cases are coming from.

'Our goal is elimination. And again, that doesn't mean eradication but it means we get down to a small number of cases so that we are able to stamp out any cases and any outbreak that might come out.'

The nation of five million people, reported only one new case of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 1,122 with 19 deaths.

After nearly five weeks at the maximum Level Four restrictions - with only essential services operating - the country will move to Level Three late on Monday.
