My WA State Gov is a moron. With that said there is now this:
OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Western States Pact of three states who banded together to battle the coronavirus outbreak have welcomed two states into the group.
Colorado and Nevada now join Washington, Oregon and California in what they call a "shared vision of modifying stay at home orders and fighting COVID-19."
"In Washington state, our decisions are guided by public health data and science and this is a principle we share up and down the West Coast," Gov. Inslee said in a statement welcoming the pact's two newest members. "(Colorado) Governor Polis and (Nevada) Governor Sisolak are taking that approach as well, and the addition of their states will strengthen this regional partnership and save lives."
Each state says they're committed to protect the vulnerable populations and ensuring their health care systems can continue to handle the outbreak. And they say any successful lifting of interventions would have to include the development of a system for robust testing, tracking those who have been directly exposed to the virus, and then isolating those who are sick or exposed.
Some states are already taking steps to loosen social distancing measures, with Georgia restaurants allowed for limited dine-in options and other service industry businesses like barbers, gyms and nail salons allowed to reopen Friday.
In Washington, Gov. Inslee loosened some restrictions on the private construction industry and has a press conference scheduled for Monday afternoon where it's expected he will address current restrictions on state parks and recreation sites, but the state in general remains under his "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order through at least May 4.
