A lot of people apparently have no idea how to cook or prepare their own food from basic ingredients.
Anything that helps them get motivated and learn is a good thing, even though to an experienced kitchen-anon it appears ridiculous.
There was a continuation school for kids from the barrio. The teacher discovered that these kids did not know how to use a ruler, hammer, screwdriver, pliers, etc. They had never seen a parent use a tool to do a simple task.
