Both. Your ID is registered with your IP when you finish a captcha, and that can hold for 24 hours. But, you also receive a new ID with each bread.

Board Owner and Board Volunteers can find you from bread to bread. Or the team…when it suits their fancy. (That was one creepy realization way back in the day.)
