Emails obtained by hackers and released by Wikileaks years ago are still guiding part of the national conversation in 2020, and they demonstrate Fauci had a great admiration for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In an email sent to Clinton aide Cheryl Mills on Jan. 23, 2013 โ€” the date Clinton testified before Congress about her knowledge of the 2012 Benghazi consulate attack โ€” Fauci showed his support for the embattled Democrat, who was also facing questions about her health at the time.

โ€œAnyone who had any doubts about the Secretaryโ€™s stamina and capability following her illness had those doubts washed away by todayโ€™s performance before the Senate and the House,โ€ Fauci wrote to Mills.

โ€œShe faced extremely difficult circumstances at the Hearings and still she hit it right out of the park. Please tell her that we all love her and are very proud to know her,โ€ Fauci added.

In forwarding the email to Clinton, Mills wrote that the message was โ€œFrom your doctor admirer.โ€

Following World War I (1914โ€“18), a number of designs were advanced for a flag for the District of Columbia. Among those submitted in February 1924 to the Evening Star newspaper was a white flag bearing two red horizontal stripes and three blue five-pointed stars. The designer, Charles Dunn, based his design on the personal coat of arms of George Washington, which was similar but had red rowels (sharp-pointed disks at the ends of spurs) instead of blue stars. The Washington family arms date to 16th-century Sulgrave, England, but the intended symbolism of the design and colours is unknown.
