Daryl Hannah’s bare behind in “Splash” isn’t the only thing being censored by Disney Plus and its family-friendly streaming service, as a few other shows and films have received subtle edits.

Although “Splash” had been streaming since February, sharp-eyed viewers noticed Hannah’s hair had been CGI’d to cover her bare butt as her character goes running off into the ocean. A Disney spokesperson did confirm that “a few scenes in the film have been slightly edited to remove nudity.”

1999’s “Toy Story 2” had its post-credits sequence edited for an inappropriate scene when the film was re-released on DVD to tie in with “Toy Story 4.”

The censors removed a casting couch joke where Stinky Pete (Kelsey Grammer) flirts with two Barbie dolls hinting that he can get them into movies. “You know, I’m sure I could get you a part in ‘Toy Story 3,’” Stinky Pete says.

The scene was deleted in light of the #MeToo movement. The original scene is below and does not appear in the streaming service version.

But Disney Plus did have a change of heart, it seems, over animated series “Gravity Falls.” Creator Alex Hirsch tweeted back in November 2019 about its decision to remove a symbol from Stanley Pines’ initial fez. Hirsh said, “Lol apparently the geniuses over at Disney+ decided to remove Grunkle Stan’s fez symbol for no reason, but then accidentally left it in the thumbnails.”

The symbol appears to be back on Stanley’s fez, at least for American audiences.

“Lilo and Stitch” audiences have noticed a subtle change to one of its scenes. After fighting with her sister, Lilo runs into the laundry room and climbs into a clothes dryer. In the edited version, Lilo climbs into something that looks like a pizza box.

Another article links Pixar to Noble Prize.

and has gone on to become a billion dollar franchise

In the opening scene of Toy Story, released in 1995, a cluster of boxes is scattered across a child's bedroom. The sun streams into the room as a Mr Potato Head doll demands money from a seemingly stricken cast of plastic and plush toys outside a cardboard bank.

Into the picture arrives the hero - a cowboy sheriff made of plastic and fabric with a pull-string to make him speak. The sheriff casts a shadow over the villainous potato who flees from the law.

It's a scene plucked from a child's imagination. It was also the culmination of decades of development in computer animation.

This year, two of the men behind those advancements, Ed Catmull and Pat Hanrahan, are the recipients of the Turing Award. The award recognises "lasting and major" contributions to the field of computing and is considered to be the "Nobel Prize" of computer science.

The award is given by the Association for Computing Machinery and comes with a $1m (£800,000) cash prize split between the winners.

Dr Catmull was one of the founders of Pixar, the studio behind Toy Story. Dr Hanrahan was one of Pixar's early employees.

The pair were notified of their win in early March.

It gave the two old friends and former colleagues just enough time to meet for a celebratory meal before coronavirus lockdown measures were put in place in California, where they both live.

This link between Blizzard and Pixar is old, from 2010, so may not be relevant.

Blizzard Is The Pixar Of The Video Game World

Luke Plunkett

Jul 9, 2010, 2:00pm

Pixar is the…Pixar of the animation world. But who's the Pixar of the video game business? Well, according to Pixar, two companies share that honour.

"We've met quite a few of the Blizzard people actually - some of the cinematics team," Pixar's Andrew Payton tells GI.biz. "Blizzard and Pixar almost seem like mirror images of one another: The same sort of philosophy; the same sort of work ethic; the same attention to detail."

"They're basically the biggest company in the games industry, and we're the biggest company in the 3D film industry - it's interesting talking to them, because we always come across the same sort of problems and it just comes down to the philosophy of what you're trying to do."

“Blizzard is the mirror image of Pixar.”

(Wth does that really mean?)

I agree there are vying factions in both Russia and China. But what is your evidence besides a lame and unconvincing analogy between Xi and Trump that Xi is on the side of the White Hats rather than the Cabal?
