Early RNA Sequencing on Covid-19/Gates/Chan/Zuckerberg
Thought I heard a Fox news discussion on whether or not we have proper early DNA information for the virus that started in Wuhan, China. I think it meant the ealiest sequencing. Not really sure what I heard because of digging on something else. Don't know if I misunderstood what they were talking about. It did bring to mind the fact that someone has an early sample of the virus and it has been uploaded (?) to a public database.
Gates, Chan and Zuckerberg, or someone associated with them, has sequencing on an early sample of Covid-19. That information was uploaded to the public database. They happened to have a sequencing machine (known as IDSeq) in Cambodia, when a patient who had resently returned from China was identified in Cambodia. A few vials of RNA were sent to a NIAID facility in Cambodia for testing. NIAID is where Dr. Fauci works. The IDSeq machine sends information about all of the RNA in the sample to something called GISAID. Something called GenBank is also involved. It sure was a timely coincidence that the IDSeq machine made its arrival in Cambodia a few months before the patient's RNA sample arrived at the NIAID facilty there.
