A quick reminder that none of the speculation around a 'rescue mission' to free children supposedly held captive occurred during this quarantine.
This is a great opportunity for those of us who believed this would happen to reflect on where we went wrong, where we were uncritical, and what we can do to sharpen our minds so that we won't be duped again.
Think critically. About everything. Demand sources for every claim that is made.
Remember that 'the burden of proof' rests solely with the person making the claim. This means in practice that when someone makes a claim (x is true, x is going to happen, x is guilty, x did such and such), it is up to us to demand evidence for the claim.
It is absolutely imperative to remain skeptical of any claim made - especially in this era of fake news.
