Why did POTUS say that he had never been asked about bringing Gen. Flynn back into his administration?

 

At the news conference on 4/27, OAN asked POTUS if there is any reason he would not bring Flynn back into his admin if he's fully exonerated.

Then, when asked the again on 4/30, he said, "it's something that nobody's asked me but you're asking me for the first time…"

I realize there's a slight difference in the questions, but POTUS still seemed to emphasize that it was the first time he'd been asked.
