Copfag here with an observation on Priestap's handwritten notes.
They teach cops (and I assume Feds) from the academy and all the way through your career not to write anything down that you don't want seen in court because your "field notes" can be subpoenaed. Priestap should (and probably did) know this.
This says to me that Priestap either:
Is extremely stupid and I know these people are stupid but this would have required him to be even dumber than your regular DS asshole.
Or
Wrote these notes on purpose (or was directed to do so) knowing they would come out later.
Before you scream "Shill" and hurl insults at me, know that I'm not implying he's a white hat in any way. Just saying that law enforcement people are taught not to do this.
That I don't know but this whole thing was planned for years.
I mean we have the calm before the storm and an operation called Crossfire Hurricane, ffs. Every aspect of this was set up to fit together perfectly so I'm pretty well positive that the notes were made on purpose.
More important shit to dig though.
That's also plausible that he did it to try to save himself but I don't think he'd have been smart enough to do that when they thought they were winning.
Think about it. They actually thought this shitshow was gonna work and take down the president. Why pre-emptively save yourself from some shit you didn't think you'd need to be saved from anyway? Smarter move would have been not to write the notes and have deniability/flip on someone downstream if everything went to shit later.
Offer incentives for something and you'll get more of it.
No, The US Chamber of Commerce will cut off their donation access (Biggest bundler in DC, and why their offices are across from Hart, as i recall)
Can't find any other reports of this in written news.
