how come they can make a new flu vaccine every year, to “protect” against NEW virus strains, when the can’t make a vaccine that fast against a new coronavirus?

Do they make those flu vaccines so fast, because they let the new strain loose themselves?? Make a new starin, make a vaccine, let the flu virus out, and start selling those flu shots??
