This is nothing new to me. I knew a dozen years+ ago the CDC and others trumped up their statistics. I began my own saying: If a person who smoked lived to 100 years and died, they'd still attribute it as a smoking death because the person would have lived to 101 if they hadn't smoked would be their reasoning.
