Yeah, I'm back on the job. However each anon has to decide where to apply their skillz and I think I should put moar emphasis on making memes and less on harvesting them.
Maybe I should write a bit of code to automate sorting memes into topic folders.
A plea to all anons:
If you NAME your IMAGE with a human readable name that categorizes the content, a name containing keywords that others are likely to search for, it would be immensely helpful to your frens.
Some of the memes are named stuff like 5A733ACF_9F19_479E_9073_8B.png and that is not helpful in terms of categorizing memes to enable search by topic. When you do this, you are asking old memefarmer to study your meme, decide how to categorize it, and type a filename that categorizes it AND does not conflict with 70,000 prior filenames. Or ignore and not collect it because too much trouble.
On the other hand if you name it something like work_together.jpg (thank you SSAnon) then
(a) it can be harvested directly with YOUR filename simply by right clicking on that filename and selecting Download Link.
(b) and it will come up in a search across folders when looking for a meme about 'together'.
If you typed text onto your meme, it is fairly straightforward to copypasta that text and use it for the filename.
There are some anons who name their memes like "Serves Those Bastards Right.jpg" and that kind of filename is not at all helpful for locating a meme by searching. Old Memefarmer has type new filenames for that kind too.
tl;dr
If you want to keep your Memefarmer on the job, help out by naming your files with human-readable filenames containing useful keywords.
