The 1832 Rothschild loan to the Holy See was a financial loan arranged between the Rothschild family (in the persons of James Mayer de Rothschild and Carl Mayer von Rothschild) and the Holy See of the Catholic Church during the Pontificate of Pope Gregory XVI.
