keep in mind the fed buys treasury bills and issues fed notes which is our domestic currency, now the treasury bills pay little to no interest 0 - .25% so they are making little to nothing for their scheme. they can still make $ trading our securities though, by discounting the interest rate and charging a premium over face value, but that is limited and nothing like what they did prior.
if potus gets them to do what they do without making money then he essentially took them out of a profit business and relegated them to providing a service.
