TACOMA, Wash. — Gubernatorial candidate Tim Eyman has joined Franklin County Commissioner Clint Didier and some small business owners in filing a lawsuit against Gov. Jay Inslee, saying his stay-at-home order has imposed “unacceptable tyranny.”
The suit was filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
Eyman, along with other plaintiffs, criticized Inslee’s order in front of the courthouse in Tacoma.
The lawsuit is seeking class-action status.
Last week, Franklin County commissioners, including Didier, voted in favor of defying Inslee’s orders and reopening the county.
The lawsuit is the second legal challenge to the order by Republican politicians.
