Rockefeller, Chandler, Skoll, ELMA Foundation, Gates, Nilekani = Co-Impact

This Anon was really trying to get off this Gates stuff. Am really tired of every digg leading there. So… imagine my disappointment, when trying to find something else to digg and… yup… Gates.

Went looking for something bigger than Gates. Found it. Its a club, of sorts, for billionaires. They apparently think that their billions spent seperately are not powerful enough to leverage (their word not Anon's) the results they want. On 11-15-17 The Rochefeller Foundation announced Co-Impact. Co-Impact is philanthropy's new model for philanthropic collaboration. Back to Anon's problem; Co-Impact involves… wait for it… Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Anon thinks its significant that The Rockefeller Foundation made the announcement about CO-Impact. The second richest guy in the US (Bill Gates) let The Rockefeller Foundation take the lead. OK enough about Anon's disappointment.

Chandler is definately a global businessman. He's from New Zealand with businesses based in Singapore, has bought into health care in the United Arab Emirates and is a Core Funder of Co-Impact (which also has Core Funders from the US and India). The bonus information in this article is that Bloomberg has media interests in the United Arab Emirates. Anon wonders, if Bloomberg is as agreeable with UAE "news" interests as it is with Chinese "news" interests.

In this article from _ The Spin Off, _ we learn that Chandler also has interests in Russia, Brazil and the Czech Republic. Richard's brother Christopher has a Dubai based fund (since 2006) called Legatum Capital. A think tank, the Legatum Institute Foundation, is a spin-off of Legatum Capital. Legatum Institute Foundation has inserted itself into Brexit. There is an allegation that Christopher and Richard Chandler may be Russian Spys. Russian gas giant Gazprom is allegedly involved.

In this Forbes article dated 2-20-2019, we learn that Chandler's Clermont Group has taken control of Eviation, an Isreali startup. A $76 million infussion allowed developement of "Alice". Alice is an electric "plane targeted at the regional transportation market in North America, believing there’s untapped demand for short-haul flights of 50 to 500 miles at a lower price than currently possible with the piston and turboprop planes that ply many secondary routes."

Can you imagine this Anon's excitement at finding some pretty good stuff that involved a name other than Gates?

At its founding, in 2017, Kathleen and Romesh Wadhwani were Core Partners in Co-Impact. The Rockefeller Foundation statement below mentions them.

This is the same article presented in section 1/9 of this thread. Dr. Wadhwani's mention is underlined in red. Same sauce as section1/9 of this thread.

Romesh Wadhwani is an interesting addition to this cast of philanthropists. His biography at Wadhwani Foundation says that he is a member of the Giving Pledge (think Gates and Buffett), an Obama appointee to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center (we're missing something about the importance of that place) and Board Member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (think Thomas Pritzker). Wonder if they have an underground swimming pool at the Kennedy Center?
